Happy New Year! 🎉

I love getting a new calendar for the year. Every year I order new Erin Condren calendars for both of my girls and me for Christmas. There’s just something about blank pages that’s almost energizing. A lot of people take the end of a year and beginning of the next to reflect, to plan. While I do ‘plan an overview’ of the upcoming year, I’ve never been one to get too granular in January.

And let me tell you, in all of my years of experience, switching from holiday relaxation back to study mode isn't always a piece of cake! (My kids would agree! haha!)

Here are a few tips to help make the transition smoother as you’re diving back in. Hopefully, they will help sprinkle a little ease and fun into your days too!

1. Easy Does It 🌈

Who says we have to race back into our studies? Start with some light and breezy activities. A leisurely week filled with fun learning games? Sounds like a plan! This gentle start can set a happy tone for the rest of the year.

2. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work 🤝

Turn this into a family adventure! Gather around for a family meeting and brainstorm how we want this semester to feel and look. When everyone chips in their ideas, our homeschooling journey becomes a shared, exciting quest.

3. Bend Like a Willow 🌿

Remember, it's okay if things are a bit wobbly at first. Flexibility is our superpower, friend! Focus on enjoying learning and exploring cool stuff. If things don't go exactly as planned, no worries. You’re all learning together – hiccups and all!

4. Field Trip Fun! 🚌

Field trips are like magic spells for learning. Planning a few outings that our kids are thrilled about can really light up these winter days. What if we let our kids be the tour guides and pick the destinations? Adventure awaits!

5. Game On! 🎲

Who doesn't love games? Mixing education with playful games or fun apps is a fantastic way to reignite our love for learning. Games have forever been a hit in our house, and I bet your kids love them too.

I'm sending all the prayers and positive vibes for a peaceful, joy-filled return to your homeschooling routine.

I am cheering you on!

Jenn
